About the Role

We are seeking two highly motivated and compassionate Specialist Support Workers to join our Mental Health Service in Ealing. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing information, social inclusion, and vocational opportunities to support individuals to recover and stay well.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build supportive relationships with service users and create a positive atmosphere
  • Conduct holistic assessments and regular key work sessions to achieve Support Plan goals
  • Develop and implement support plans to provide appropriate services based on ongoing assessment
  • Ensure ongoing assessment and management of risks within a positive risk-taking approach
  • Support service users to access relevant services and empower them to self-manage their medication
  • Develop productive relationships with external stakeholders to improve service outcomes
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to the functioning of the staff team and support colleagues in providing a high level of service and safety to customers
  • Coproduce the design, development, and delivery of the service with service users
  • Adhere to lone working protocols and maintain high levels of awareness in relation to the health and safety of yourself and colleagues
About You

We are looking for individuals who are able to advocate for service users in different professional and community spaces. You will have a strong understanding of people's contexts and how this might be impacting their lives and mental health. You will also have cultural awareness and respect for the many different ways a person might make sense of their experiences and distress.

We welcome applications from people with lived experience of some of the challenges that this service aims to support, such as mental health difficulties. You will be approachable and open in your behavior, recognizing the value of both 1:1 working with service users and the importance of working as part of a group or team.

Requirements
  • Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or experience supporting young people or people experiencing mental health challenges
  • Specialist knowledge relevant to supporting young people with a Mental Health diagnosis
