**Job Overview**

We are seeking an experienced Midwife to join our vibrant Maternity Team at King's College Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing autonomous, evidence-based midwifery care while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

Main Duties:

  • Plan and implement individualised midwifery care that is centred on women, pregnant individuals, children, and families.
  • Ensure all risk assessments and referrals are completed and actioned, with documentation.
  • Follow midwifery and obstetric guidelines, liaising with the multidisciplinary team to implement patient care, reporting and recording any deviations from protocols.
  • Ensure clinical records comply with Trust and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous professional development, including mandatory training and online learning.
  • Satisfy the Clinical Governance agenda in all aspects of care delivery.

Personal and Professional Development:

  • Actively participate in maintaining own professional development, identifying educational and clinical training needs with the Line Manager.
  • Ensure own mandatory training certificates are current.
  • Maintain personal and professional development in accordance with PREP requirements, attending mandatory study sessions as required.
  • Keep up-to-date with NMC, relevant specialist, Faculty, and Trust guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintain full conversance with current national and local guidance and the NMC curriculum standards.

Person Specification:

  • Current NMC Registered Midwife.
  • Further professional studies relevant to the clinical area.
  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent experience.

Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate a good level of theoretical midwifery knowledge.
  • Demonstrable clinical expertise, relevant to the area.
