Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Temporary, with potential for permanent contract

Location: Durham area

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN teaching assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Durham. As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and contributing to their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEN in 1:1 or small group settings
  • Assisting with curriculum planning and delivery
  • Communicating effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Maintaining high standards of behavior and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Providing emotional support and nurturing students' social and emotional needs

Requirements:

  • Good English and Maths skills (GCSE A-C or equivalent)
  • Experience of working with students with SEN
  • Autism awareness training (desirable)
  • Team Teach training (desirable)
  • Nurturing and patient approach
  • Passionate about supporting students' learning and development
