We are a AAA game development studio working on an exciting unannounced project.

Our team believes in the power of diverse talents coming together to build experiences for everyone. Currently, we're laying the foundation for Act III by forming a team of talented individuals, whilst leaving room for the growth and development of newer members of the games industry.

Overview:

In this role as Senior Layout Artist at Act III Ltd, you'll play a key part in establishing the foundation of our game environments. As part of the art team, you'll be using principles of spatial cinematography to take levels from block out to completion, crafting immersive environments that blend gameplay functionality with stunning visuals. Your work will involve creating layouts and environments that evoke emotion, tell stories, and deliver high-quality visuals that enhance the player's experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and block out immersive 3D environments, balancing artistic vision with functionality.
  • Create visually compelling compositions that enhance storytelling, guide player focus, and maintain consistency in scale, proportion, and overall artistic quality.
  • Use cinematic composition, lighting, and asset placement to evoke emotion and establish atmosphere.
  • Shape spaces that will support the cadence and pacing of distinct gameplay interactions.
  • Iterate on layouts based on artistic feedback, ensuring visual cohesion and technical viability.

We're looking for someone with a strong artistic eye, preferably with experience in 3D layout, level design, or environment art. Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Unreal Engine, Maya, or Blender is required. A portfolio demonstrating strong compositions, an understanding of scale, and the ability to create visually stunning environments is essential. Experience shipping at least one AAA game or working on a similar high-quality project is also necessary.
