About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Welfare Support Officer to join our resettlement services team. In this critical role, you will provide crucial support to families under the Afghan Resettlement and Assistance Policy, addressing safeguarding concerns and ensuring their successful integration into UK society. Your responsibilities will include monitoring wellbeing and support needs, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating effective communication with local authorities and service users.

Key Qualifications:

  • Significant experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably in a safeguarding context
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding principles and practices, including risk assessment and management
  • Ability to develop and implement personalized support plans, tailoring services to individual needs
  • Background in mental health and/or challenging behavior support is highly beneficial
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building strong relationships with colleagues, local authorities, and service users
  • Proven experience in record keeping and risk assessment
  • Self-motivated and resilient individual, capable of working independently
  • Empathetic and supportive approach, prioritizing service user well-being
  • Full UK driving license
