Thoracic Nurse Practitioner Specialist

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Thoracic Nurse Practitioner, working closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of patients.
- Lead ward rounds, clerk patients, manage, and create care-plans for post-operative patients, run pre-op, drain, wound, and follow-up clinics.
- Develop and run nurse-led clinics in conjunction with medical staff, providing treatment, including minor surgical procedures for patients.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of patient care and work closely with the management and consultant team to manage the clinical environment.
- Participate in professional nursing initiatives and ensure compliance with the 18-week pathway and other service developments.

Requirements
- Advanced assessment skills course completed
- Experience of teaching patients and running nurse-led clinics
- Ability to draw on a diverse range of knowledge in decision-making, determining evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and actively monitoring their effectiveness
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- High level of work organisation, self-motivation, drive for performance, and improvement, and flexibility in approach and attitude
