Job Title: Mental Health Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Mental Health Assistant in a SEN school in Hitchin. As a Psychology and Criminology graduate, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and support staff to provide education and training to children with special educational needs. You will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of mental health and wellbeing, and contribute to the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the education and training of children with special educational needs.
  2. Work closely with teaching and support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  3. Provide personal care and support to pupils as needed.
  4. Use your initiative to support learning and promote pupil engagement.
  5. Contribute to the clinical team and support the development of mental health and wellbeing initiatives.
Requirements:
  1. Psychology and Criminology graduate.
  2. Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  3. Eligibility to work in the UK.
  4. Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, at level 2 or above.
  5. Local commute to Hitchin and surrounding areas.
