Senior Java Software Engineer Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Software Engineer to join our team at TEKsystems. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining microservice applications that provide orchestration workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop microservice applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Object Relational Mapping (ORM)
  • Lead the migration of applications and infrastructure from traditional Virtual Machines (VMs) to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Ensure optimal performance, robust security, and cost efficiency
  • Conduct thorough testing to verify correctness and perform problem analysis and error recovery
  • Adhere to best practices and processes

Requirements:

  • Skilled in Java, Spring Boot, and Object Relational Mapping (ORM)
  • Solid understanding of Dependency Injection and ways to leverage
  • Development of RESTful API services & understanding of API Gateways (e.g. APIGEE)
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals, including pods, services, and deployments
  • Docker image creation
  • IaC experience with tools like Terraform
  • Build Tools & DevOps principles: GIT, Maven, Jenkins CI/CD, Nexus, SonarQube
  • Event based messaging systems Google Pub/Sub or similar
  • SQL/NoSQL database
  • Unix/Linux scripting and command line

Desirable:

  • Some frontend experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript )
  • Test automation experience: BDD, mocking, contract testing, Sast
  • Exposure to web technologies, data tooling & infrastructure / networking
  • Banking & Finance experience
  • Exposure to log aggregation tools such as Splunk
