Job Description

As the Product Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of products manufactured on site, adhering to agreed quality specifications and standards, and implementing processes that drive improvement and compliance to Quality and Traceability standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular product tests and assessments on food items received from external suppliers or our internal Hot & Cold Kitchen facilities.
  • Support monthly menu changes by ensuring specifications are ready, and provide assistance on the shop floor for a smooth start-up.
  • Weigh and check products against airline specifications to ensure accurate delivery.
  • Oversee internal audits of food product safety and quality matters, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Verify meals prepared by general assistants meet customer expectations, providing feedback to relevant departments.
  • Support customer audits, including meal tasting and evaluation, to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of food safety documentation.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action activities when necessary.
  • Ensure timely updates of reports and prevent overdue submissions.
  • Collaborate with the production team on product rotation, including FIFO practices.
  • Guarantee adherence to HACCP principles and Good Hygiene Practices throughout the operation.
  • Liaise with the compliance department on any issues or concerns.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in a food environment (Minimum of 1-3 years).
  • Allergen awareness and practical management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective liaison with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Fundamental understanding of microbiology and basic food safety principles.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within Flight Catering.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Food Legislation, and Food Hygiene principles.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in previous roles.
  • Able to work efficiently using initiative to resolve issues promptly.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, with ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and positive attitude, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Intermediate certificate in applied HACCP principles.
