Job Title: News Editor

We are seeking an experienced News Editor to join our team at Reach PLC. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the publication of high-quality, engaging content for our online platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage the publishing of fresh, engaging, and accurate content for our online platforms.
  • Brief and manage a team of reporters to deliver high-quality content, including words, pictures, video, data, and interactives.
  • Play a key role in launching live blogs for big stories and maintaining momentum as audiences engage with our content.
  • Ensure our website and social media channels have compelling content in line with our audience data and trends.
  • Work to grow our loyal audience, focusing on newsletters and other engaging content, and ensuring we maximize every opportunity in this area.
  • Support and guide your team daily, weekly, and monthly, from 1:1s and team briefings to career development and promotions.
Requirements:
  • An experienced NCTJ or equivalent senior qualified journalist with exceptional media law knowledge.
  • A strong track record of telling stories accurately, engaging large audiences, and a real passion for digital storytelling.
  • A sharp news sense, excellent accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • The skills to be a supportive people manager, guiding and encouraging your team to get the best out of them.
  • Social media savvy with an excellent understanding of SEO, search, social, and digital audience behavior.
  • The ability to create and edit accurate copy at pace, meeting deadlines with ease.
