A leading engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on customer projects from concept through to series production.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints, monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions, and accountable for all line quality issues. They will also provide guidance to shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost-saving techniques.

Requirements:

  1. Significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within automotive tier 1 or OEM manufacturing.
  2. Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  3. Ability to liaise with and manage OEM customer and supplier expectations.
  4. Structured problem-solving skills - 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS.
  5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques.
  6. Familiar with volume manufacturing processes.
  7. Internal auditor experience - IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 desirable.
  8. Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
