About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced obstetrician to join our maternity team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultant-level care to patients, including routine and emergency obstetrics, and will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a variety of specialist clinics.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general obstetrics and gynaecology, with experience in managing labour wards and providing care to vulnerable women. They will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role will involve providing consultant-level care to patients, including routine and emergency obstetrics, and will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a variety of specialist clinics. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of the maternity service, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of clinical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-level care to patients, including routine and emergency obstetrics
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols
  • Contribute to the development of the maternity service, including participating in quality improvement initiatives
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration
  • Eligible to be included on Specialist Register
  • MRCOG
  • Relevant CCT or equivalent
  • Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Specific training in communication skills
