About the Role

The North West Route Lancs & Cumbria Delivery Unit at Network Rail is seeking a highly skilled Electrification and Plant Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the Infrastructure Maintenance team to achieve business objectives and meet key performance measures.
  • Manage the development of individuals and the engagement of the team.
  • Ensure the safety and competence of staff.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve safety, asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Manage the inspection and maintenance of assets to standards.
  • Prioritize work and deliver to plan.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, assurance, and business processes.
  • Identify and submit non-compliances for approval and take appropriate action.
  • Manage the handover and acceptance of assets being renewed, installed, or modified by projects.
  • Restore assets to normal operation after completion of testing or investigation.
  • Develop and agree annual maintenance, inspection, and testing programs and resource levels.
  • Develop and authorize quarterly work plans and resource levels.
  • Identify and propose asset renewals.
  • Review and approve method statements and/or plans for design and/or work activities.
  • Investigate and report on accidents and incidents.
  • Conduct safety tours, staff surveillance, work quality, and asset condition checks.

Requirements

  • Relevant technical competence.
  • Experience in maintenance management, processes, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the operational railway environment.
  • Knowledge of other functional disciplines.
  • IRSE Licence holder (Signalling only).
  • Local Accident & Incident Investigation.
  • Good interpersonal, influencing, communication, and organization skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Incorporated Engineer.
  • Membership of a professional body.
