Overview:

Recurrent Energy stands as a leading entity in the development, ownership, and management of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across diverse geographical locations. As a fully-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., we leverage an expert team dedicated to global development and power services.

The chosen candidate will integrate into Recurrent Energy's Global FP&A team, directly reporting to the Global O&M FP&A Manager. This position is pivotal in managing all FP&A functions across the EMEA region (including the UK, Spain, Italy, South Africa, etc.), with a primary emphasis on the UK, fostering relationships, preparing monthly closing reports, and communicating outcomes to the Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner for country leaders within the EMEA region to enhance forecasts, manage risks, and drive financial performance improvements;
  • Oversee the reporting framework for the EMEA region, which includes budget preparation, business planning, and financial reporting;
  • Develop, consolidate, and coordinate the budgeting process, including the creation of forecasting models and database management;
  • Support the company's monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, performing account reconciliations and necessary analyses.
  • Monitor the regional cash flow status on a weekly basis.
  • Review and authorize contracts, purchase orders, and payments in accordance with established authority protocols.
  • Update cost and expense trend reports, analyze discrepancies, and ensure alignment with forecasts.
  • Generate reports and conduct new ad hoc analyses for Management, focusing on project and portfolio evaluations for the UK entity.
  • Collaborate with other regions and headquarters to provide necessary information and data.
  • Supervise team members assigned to the FP&A unit in EMEA (currently one resource).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • 5+ years of comprehensive experience within a Finance Department, with at least 2 years in Accounting;
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including people management;
  • Familiarity with US GAAP reporting and a solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS;
  • Proven ability to perform functions in compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and standards;
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels;
  • Ability to interact with individuals tactfully, confidentially, and professionally;
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly SAP and MS Office (with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills); knowledge of Tipalti and Xero is advantageous;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work;
  • Experience in service-oriented companies or maintenance sectors is a plus.

Work Location:

  • Positioned within the EMEA region, with frequent travel to key locations.
  • Flexibility for the successful candidate to be based in major cities within the region.
