RSR Justice is a specialist recruitment agency providing staffing services to the offender management and criminal justice sectors.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Probation Officer to work in London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the formal supervision of learners, undertaking HR-related processes, and managing their performance throughout the qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To work closely with Practice Tutor Assessors to ensure learners have appropriate support and manage any issues related to progression or development.
  2. Attend learning agreement reviews with learners and PTAs to discuss progress and performance, and contribute to post-programme reports to identify ongoing development needs.
  3. To ensure staff can efficiently meet the requirements of the NPS' contract with NOMS, CRC, and local business plans.
  4. To access, interpret, analyse, and apply performance data proactively to maximise LDU/team performance, evaluate practice, and deliver organisational aims.
  5. To proactively manage staff development, issues of underperformance, attendance, health and safety, employee relations, and diversity matters.
  6. To ensure offender managers manage risk appropriately and meet public protection standards and targets.

Requirements:

  1. A Probation Officer qualification is required.
  2. Substantial experience with a proven record of good practice in various settings, including offender risk assessment and management, as a Probation Officer or from working within another criminal justice agency or related work context.
  3. Understanding of the role of the Probation Service in the Criminal Justice System and in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  4. Experience of risk management and assessment, understanding of multi-agency risk assessment and management procedures.
  5. Evidence of ability to provide a practice perspective on policy development.
  6. Experience of working flexibly as a member of a team to achieve performance targets.
