King Lifting is a leading provider of crane hire, contract lifting, and plant machinery movement services in the UK and Europe. We pride ourselves on delivering safe and expert solutions to our clients.

We are seeking an experienced Depot Manager for our Southampton site to lead our team of operators and administration staff. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our crane depot, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in the crane or plant hire industry, with experience in operational management, leadership, and commercial awareness. You will be able to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions to drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the crane depot, including asset utilization and maintenance
  • Lead and develop a team of experienced operators and administration staff
  • Negotiate contracts with clients and ensure excellent customer service
  • Monitor and improve the welfare, safety, and working hours of depot personnel
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and statutory requirements

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the crane or plant hire industry
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Prioritization and problem-solving abilities
