Costume Supervisor

We are seeking a highly organized and creative individual to join our Entertainments team as a Costume Supervisor at Chessington World of Adventures Resort in Surrey.

About the Role

This permanent position will involve supervising a team of costume assistants, working closely with the Entertainments and Events Creative Manager, designing and creating costumes for events, sourcing fabric and costumes, creating quick change and dressing plans, negotiating with suppliers, and managing rotas. The role requires strong sewing skills, experience in costume design, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and motivate a team of costume assistants
  • Work closely with the Entertainments and Events Creative Manager to design and create costumes for events
  • Sourcing fabric and costumes for shows and events
  • Creating quick change, dressing and making plans for costumes
  • Negotiating with suppliers for fabrics
  • Ordering stock
  • General administration and stock taking
  • Laundry and basic cleaning
  • Maintenance/repair costumes and skin costume characters
Requirements

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the costume industry, with strong sewing skills, pattern cutting, and experience with costume design. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, methodical, passionate, and quick thinking, with a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude.
