IT Infrastructure Manager

British Wool is a farmer-run organisation established in 1950 to operate a central marketing system for fleece wool. We collect wool from over 35,000 farms throughout the UK and prepare it for sale at auction. Our IT infrastructure plays a crucial role in supporting our operations.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Manager to join our 3-person IT team. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the IT infrastructure that underpins all our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage software and hardware projects, including deploying and automating updates to in-house software, MDM management, Intune management, Office 365 administration, migration to Azure, and upgrade to Windows 11.
- Take the lead on all Cyber Security management and remediation, ensuring the security and integrity of our IT systems.
- Oversee Infrastructure Technology Operations, including management of patching hardware, operating systems, and software.
- Manage the IT Technician(s) and oversee the helpdesk as necessary.
- Act as a third-line point of escalation to the IT helpdesk and cover 1st/2nd line as required.
- Contribute to the IT strategy and work with colleagues across the business to derive and write specifications for additions and alterations to bespoke software and systems.
- Generalist IT infrastructure skills, including Microsoft Server and Client (10+), Clustered Microsoft Hyper-V, HPE MSA SAN and iSCSI connectivity, SonicWALL NGFW management and administration, and proven capability managing networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Cyber security identification, remediation, and future development.
- Project Management and Cloud migration experience.
- Good planning and time-management skills, effective communication with colleagues across the business, and ability to translate technical requirements as required.
- Competitive salary of between £45k-55k based on qualifications and experience.
- 23 days annual leave entitlement + bank holidays, rising to 28 days after two years continuous service.
