Job Description

**Financial Accountant Role at Index**

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Index. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing financial insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • General Ledger Management: Manage and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial information.
  • Central Costs Allocation: Calculate and allocate central costs to each group company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee and carry out accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices and receipts.
  • Management Accounts: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, providing financial insights to support business decision-making.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings, providing recommendations to management.
  • Financial Insights: Provide financial insights and recommendations to management, supporting business decision-making.
  • Financial Processes: Put in place any financial processes required, ensuring financial controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Financial Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant finance and tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Accounting Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or other prestigious degree.
  • Accounting Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience post-qualification in financial accounting, preferably within the recruitment or staffing industry.
  • Accounting Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations, proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero QuickBooks, Sage or similar), and advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
