Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and service in the retail pharmacy setting. As a key member of the healthcare team, this individual will work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and learners to maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency in technical duties, including prescription preparation, compounding, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and check prescriptions with a high degree of accuracy
  • Perform technical tasks, including ordering and receiving, with attention to detail
  • Utilize computer order entry and pharmaceutical arithmetic skills to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients to provide excellent customer service
  • Prioritize multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or an OCP recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a regulated Pharmacy Technician
  • Excellent attendance and work record

Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with extended hours and rotating shifts as scheduled. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively as part of a team.
