Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologist to join our team at NHS Tayside. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology department, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of interventional radiology procedures, including peripheral vascular intervention, endovascular aneurysm treatment, tumour embolisation and ablation, and more.
  • Work closely with clinical teams to provide high-quality patient care and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in the development of special interests and contribute to the growth of our Interventional Radiology department.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and friendly Interventional Radiology team. You will be based at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and will also have a regular daytime commitment to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. The role involves a 1:7.5 IR on-call, with all on-call services based at Ninewells Hospital.

Requirements:
  • Must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

The IR suite at Ninewells Hospital has two fully equipped rooms with Siemens C arms, and one fully equipped room with a Philips C arm at Victoria Hospital. The rooms are adequately staffed with IR radiographers and nurses, and there is access to interventional CT facilities on both sites.

The indicative job plan is 8 DCC: 2 SPA, and will be discussed with the successful candidate.
