Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Nationwide Battery Charger Technician to join our team. As a key member of our nationwide team, you will be responsible for servicing battery chargers and their related battery packs at commercial and industrial locations. Your duties will include:
- Organizing and completing service visits according to manufacturer recommendations
- Positioning, installing, and commissioning equipment at customer sites
- Repairing equipment
- Advising head office of any sales opportunities identified during duties
- Promoting the company and acting professionally at all times
- Surveying new and existing sites for installation purposes
- Providing technical support to colleagues and customers as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Electrical or electronic fault-finding experience
- Electromechanical installation skills, including BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regs
- Understanding of SLA, NiCD, and Plante batteries
- Experience working with distribution network operators (DNOs), UKPN, National Grid, or London Underground would be beneficial
- Experience with battery chargers, UPS, backup power systems/supply, emergency lighting beneficial
- Substations access experience, e.g., UKPN, National Grid, Western Power, Southern Power, Scottish Power, electrical authorized person, and CSCS all beneficial
- A valid UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK are essential
