Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our close-knit and well-respected planning team. As a Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing planning project work in-house, including initial site appraisals and evaluation, preparation of written reports and statements, and submission of all planning application documentation.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a background in either a private or public sector setting, working for a consultancy, local authority, developer, or land promoter. You will need to be at a stage in your career where you are ready to take ownership of projects, with a minimum of 5 years professional planning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage planning project work in-house, including initial site appraisals and evaluation
  • Prepare written reports and statements
  • Submit all planning application documentation
  • Meet and negotiate with Planning Officers and other parties involved in the application process
  • Be involved in Planning Committee and Appeal situations, as required

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Upwards of 5 years experience in a town planning role
  • High standards of written and verbal communication
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, and a genuine team player
  • A keen interest in the full land and planning process
  • A full UK driving licence
