About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our community mental health team in Tameside. As a senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, wellbeing, and independence of our patients are appropriately assessed and facilitated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop outcome-based care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Deliver a range of evidence-based interventions on both an individual and group basis, including MOHO assessments and interventions.
  • Supervise junior staff and students, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Work effectively as part of the MDT, contributing to discharge planning and supporting patients with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with the technical instructor to ensure effective implementation.

Requirements
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC.
  • Substantial post-registration experience working in mental health services, with a focus on older adults and complex needs.
  • Experience of MDT working, including discharge planning and assessment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other professionals.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use relevant software.
