Job Title: Cricket Coach

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cricket Coach to join our team and support the delivery of our Super 1 Cricket programme. As a Cricket Coach, you will be responsible for engaging young people in the local community and inspiring ongoing participation in the Super 1 project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality cricket coaching sessions to young people in Yeovil and South Bristol.
  • Support the development of young people's cricket skills and knowledge.
  • Act as a role model for participants during sessions.
  • Develop a rapport with young people to enable them to engage and thrive in the session.
  • Support Somerset Cricket Foundation in completing attendance records and registration forms.
  • Develop and maintain a positive image and reputation for Somerset Cricket Foundation and Chance to Shine.
  • Adhere to all relevant Somerset Cricket Foundation policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Core Coach or Foundation Coach qualification (or willingness to achieve these).
  • Experience of working with young people with additional support needs.
  • ECB Enhanced DBS (provided by Somerset Cricket Foundation).
  • Safeguarding for Coaches and Activators (SCAT) and First Aid certificate.
  • Ability to get to sessions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and planning skills.
  • Efficient time management.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Essential Skills:

  • People Management: able to maintain good relationships with young people involved in the project.
  • Adaptability: able to adapt and adjust to changing circumstances of the role.
  • Behaviours: ensuring professional boundaries are always maintained when working with children.
