Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Energy Market Development Engineer to join our team at Switch2 Energy Limited in Shipley. As a Junior Product Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of new products for energy markets.

This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines, develop embedded electronic products and software, electromechanical devices, hydraulic circuits, and more. You will work closely with experienced colleagues and develop your skills and knowledge.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test methods and results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of new products for energy markets
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (level 3 to 6 qualifications considered)
  • Strong coding skills, with experience in running code on electronic hardware
  • Ability to perform calculations using algebraic formulas
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Sufficient eyesight and dexterity to handle small parts
  • Self-motivation and defined career objectives
  • Ability to travel if required

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of basic electronic and electrical circuits, control and measurement circuits
  • Ability to perform measurements of common mechanical and electrical parameters
  • Experience in designing and producing simple PCBs
  • Familiarity with mechanical design using ECAD packages
