Vehicle Electrical Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical System Specialist to join our Test & Development department in Farnborough. This role involves diagnosing and rectifying faults on electrical systems and CAN network harnesses for EV and hybrid vehicles. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of automotive electrical systems, experience with instrumentation and data logging equipment, and be able to read and understand electrical drawings and circuit diagrams.
About the Role:
- Diagnose and rectify faults on electrical systems and CAN network harnesses for EV and hybrid vehicles.
- Collaborate with T&D Engineers to develop test plans and procedures for new vehicle models.
- Utilize laptop-based diagnostic software to troubleshoot electrical systems and CAN network harnesses.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge and experience of automotive electrical systems, ideally commercial vehicle experience.
- Able to read and understand electrical drawings and circuit diagrams.
- Experience with instrumentation and data logging equipment.
- Knowledge and ability to carry out mechanical tests.
- Fluent in MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel).
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- PSV or HGV license is desirable.
- Aware basic workshop machine tool operation.
- Able to demonstrate instrumentation & data logging equipment experience (Analogue and CAN systems).
