Head of Grid Development

Ava Energy is seeking a highly experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of our grid connection strategy. As the Head of Grid, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration of our renewable energy projects into the grid, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grid connections, with a minimum of 10 years of experience working in a connections-focused environment within a DNO, TNO, power system engineering consultancy or similar. They will possess a deep understanding of Grid Code and compliance requirements, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement grid connection strategies for new and existing solar, wind, and battery storage projects.
  • Collaborate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to secure grid connections and optimize interconnections.
  • Prepare scopes and negotiate technical studies and external contracts to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Lead a small team of engineers and provide guidance on grid connection-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in grid connections.
  • Strong knowledge of Grid Code and compliance requirements.
