Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with physical and neurological impairments in a special school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills development.
  • Attend to personal care needs, following each student's Care Plan.
  • Promote positive student behavior and keep students on task.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities.
  • Monitor and record student responses and achievements.
  • Assist in the implementation of educational and care programs.
  • Select and maintain appropriate resources and specialist equipment.
  • Liaise with staff and other professionals, providing necessary student information.
  • Supervise students during breaks and educational visits, facilitating games and activities.
  • Physically assist students during activities, such as PE.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
