Job Title: Assistant Site Manager

Job Summary:

Berry Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our client's team in the recycling industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of operations, ensuring the site is running efficiently and productively, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing operations and understanding material processes and resourcing requirements.
  • Ensure the operation is running as efficiently and productively as possible and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for producing quality fibres and polymers as directed and responsible for quality control of outbound loads.
  • Ensure compliance with all permits, licenses, insurance terms and conditions, Health & Safety regulations, and other applicable regulations.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate the team to provide an effective and profitable operation based on trust and a positive attitude to performance and customer needs.
Person Specification:
  • Essential:
    • COTC 4TSH Transfer Operations (Haz & Clinical) / Landfill (Inert)
    • IOSH/NEBOSH
    • Degree-level qualification or equivalent
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in Transfer & Commercial/Trade Waste Operations
    • Experience of working with industrial machinery
    • Experience of leading, motivating, and developing teams
    • Experience of working to deadlines, objectives, and KPIs
    • A good level of experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Extensive experience in Waste/Recycling Industry
    • Experience of working within MRF/PRF operations
    • Experience of working with Inert Landfills
    • Experience of managing P&Ls and setting budgets
