Job Title:

Risk Management Trainee

About the Role:

This role involves assisting in the daily monitoring and reporting of risk exposure for member and counterparty portfolios on the London Metal Exchange.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting risk exposure for member and counterparty portfolios, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Aid the team in improving daily processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify, report, and escalate potential risks to senior management as needed, utilizing strong analytical skills.
  • Support team members in developing skills to automate risk reporting and analysis, enhancing data-driven decision-making.
  • Review and provide feedback on risk methodologies and documentation, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Monitor cleared exposures and requirements versus limits and policy, escalating where necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with external and macro market risks and their potential impact on collateral, liquidity, and investment limit frameworks, providing expert insights.
  • Monitor metals market risks and their potential impact on margin parameters and member exposures, informing strategic decisions.
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and committee reports, implementing improvements and automation when possible to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in documenting risk reporting procedures and ensuring they align with models and methodology documentation, promoting transparency.
Training and Development:
  • The Investment Operations Specialist Level 4 (Higher national certificate) Apprenticeship Standard will be provided through BPP Professional Education Limited.
Salary:

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum
