About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our team at Medway Power Station. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for the management of our rotating assets, including two GE 9FA gas turbines and a D11 steam turbine.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical governance and compliance with industry best practices for rotating plant assets.
  2. Delivery of an effective outage strategy and management of outages to optimize planned maintenance and minimize plant downtime.
  3. Budget ownership and contract management of key strategic suppliers and management of rotating equipment contract partners.
  4. Providing technical expertise and advice to other departments on rotating plant, focusing on maximizing efficiency, plant performance, and safety.
Requirements
  1. Experience in a similar role in the electricity or equivalent engineering industry, with a strong background in gas and steam turbines.
  2. Extensive engineering knowledge of gas turbines and steam turbines, including familiarity with systems and equipment used in power generation.
  3. Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline or equivalent relevant working experience.
  4. A good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and regulations in relation to mechanical systems, with a passion for safety and successful delivery against key stakeholder requirements.
