About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VAT Specialist to join our Global Tax team at Informa Global Support. As a Senior VAT Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high standards of service delivery within agreed timelines.

This is a hybrid role, based out of our Colchester office, and you will be responsible for managing the workload of a small team of 2 or 3 Accountants. You will be responsible for motivating the team to ensure performance metrics are hit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Review of VAT Returns: Prepare and review allocated VAT returns (UK and overseas) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • EC Sales Lists and Intrastate Declarations: Review EC Sales lists and intrastate declarations to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Balance Sheet Tax Reconciliations: Review balance sheet tax-related reconciliations by set deadline to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Annual PSA Returns: Assist with the review of the annual PSA returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • VAT Account Monitoring: Monitor postings made to VAT accounts and ensure all journals are supported by appropriate documentation and correctly posted.
  • Advice and Guidance: Provide advice and guidance to other teams within the shared services and within the divisions in terms of offering guidance on new products, invoice complexities, and ad-hoc queries.
  • VAT Registration: Assist with setting up new VAT registrations across the world.
  • System Testing: Complete system testing for new VAT rules and new products.
  • VAT Rate Changes: Ensure systems are up to date for VAT rate changes, liaising with the system teams as appropriate.
  • VAT Training: Prepare and provide VAT training to other SSC teams and the business as required.
Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant or Tax Professional: Qualified accountant or tax professional (CTA, ACA, or ACCA preferred).
  • Relevant Experience: 4 years relevant Tax & Financial Accounting experience.
  • SAP and Oracle Systems: Knowledge of SAP and Oracle systems.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills at all levels, including a wide range of stakeholders within the business.
  • Process Improvement: Improves processes & systems.
  • Pro-Active and Initiative: Be pro-active and take initiative and encourage teams to do the same.
  • Internal Systems: Knowledge and ability to use relevant internal systems.
  • Organized and Attention to Detail: Highly organized, diligent with attention to detail and the ability to maintain these skills whilst working under pressure.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills.
  • People Management: Experience of people management preferable.
