Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer

Travelex is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and other relevant laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential AML risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze transaction monitoring alerts to detect suspicious activity and report to the relevant authorities.
  • Review and investigate suspicious activity reports (SARs) and make recommendations for further action.
  • Manage compliance alerts and cases within established service level agreements (SLAs) and timeframes.
  • Collaborate with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and senior management to ensure compliance with AML regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain internal AML documents, including financial crime risk assessments, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide regular management information reports to the MLRO and senior management, highlighting key AML risks and trends.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in AML compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of AML regulations, including the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate AML risks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • AML qualification, such as ICA certification or similar.
  • Previous experience in policy writing or process/procedure writing.
  • Risk management experience.
