About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Darlington. As a key member of our Manufacturing facility, you will play a vital role in delivering record-breaking revenues, appointing our first female CEO, advocating for racial equity, making a case for climate action, and being named best employer for diversity.
This is a permanent contract involving shift work, offering a salary of circa £45,700 plus shift allowance, paid overtime, and excellent company benefits.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, assemble, install, test, maintain, and improve mechanical and electrical systems.
- Work with relevant functions to select and utilize appropriate resources, tools, machinery, and specialty equipment.
- Understand and adhere to protocols for working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.
- Perform work in accordance with schematic diagrams, operation manuals, and specifications using various tools, measuring, and testing instruments.
- Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements.
- Participate actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
Requirements
- Fault find on complex electrical and mechanical systems and interpret Schematic drawings.
- Knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems is required.
- Knowledge of Machine safety systems, LOTO procedures, and safe work practices is paramount.
Qualifications
- Must be an experienced time served Maintenance Technician supported by NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- ONC/HNC qualified in a relevant discipline, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic.
- Experience with Siemens PLCs would be advantageous, with the ability to fault find and execute program modifications.
- Robot Experience would be advantageous.
