ASD Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join our team at a supportive school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with complex needs, including high functioning Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils within the classroom, providing individualized attention and care.
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of pupils with Autism.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in schools, preferably with pupils with SEND or Autism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, teachers, and other staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Current DBS registration with the DBS Update Service.
