We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Greggs. As a key member of our Site Engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food manufacturing/production sites.
Your primary responsibility will be to safely maintain and improve the performance of production facilities, equipment, and services. This will involve developing engineering improvements to an ever-changing environment and reacting to problems daily. You will work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager, Team Members, and other departments to achieve our goals.
About the Role
- This is a full-time role (44 hours per week) with a 3-shift rotation, including Saturdays (1 in 3).
- The base location for this role is Penrith, North Lakes Bakery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the efficient operation of production facilities and equipment.
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs to prevent downtime and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other departments to identify and implement process improvements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Team Members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer who can demonstrate:
- A multi-skilled manufacturing background, ideally within the food or FMCG sectors.
- Electrically biased, multi-skilled, and at a minimum, trained to an apprentice level.
- Experience with PLC automated control systems, processes, fault-finding, and analysis (particularly Siemens TIA Portal and Step 5/7 operating systems, Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi).
- Experience with Microsoft 360 packages, SAP systems, and familiarity with CMMS (or other), Agility experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
- A commitment to health and safety and food safety standards.
