Job Description:

We are seeking an Associate Director - Planning to join our Project & Programme Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the evaluation of project time and quality targets. You will also lead the planning governance to enable successful delivery of client programmes.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing contractor schedule requirements through early supply chain engagement to support programme time, cost, and quality targets.
  • Working closely with the Head of Planning to improve operating policies and mitigate risks throughout the project.
  • Providing specialist advice and technical knowledge to respond to delays, issues, and other challenges.
  • Leading periodic correlation of schedules to drive expedient project delivery.
  • Leading business reporting, taking ownership for its quality and robustness, and providing project progress updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Sustaining governance processes and reviewing policies to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Leading a team by setting objectives, reviewing performance, undertaking appraisals, and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Undertaking self-assessment of procedural compliance and sharing lessons learned within the Planning community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Experience in Planning or Project Controls roles within large, complex infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of transport and/or major infrastructure or construction projects under NEC Forms of Contract.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and information flow in a matrix environment.
  • Experience of leading and motivating teams within large-scale project environments.
  • Possessing attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems / mitigate risks.
  • Knowledge of public sector policies, processes, and procedures, and associated political impacts.
