Engineering Stores and Inventory Programme Lead

Our direct-to-store distribution network enables us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties. We generated revenues of £1.9bn in FY23 and are committed to driving our future success.
Job OpportunityWe're seeking an Engineering Stores Improvement Programme Lead for a 12-month fixed-term contract to manage and coordinate the engineering stores improvement programme across our estate. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with site engineering teams to standardise store layouts, workflows, SOPs, group policies, and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a change catalyst to liaise with manufacturing units to standardise store layouts and workflows
- Working with the procurement team to determine our preferred supplier list (PSL)
- Partnering with suppliers to improve material quality and performance while reducing inventory and costs
- Completing asset registers and bills of materials for site equipment to identify replacement parts
- Defining an engineering stores/inventory strategy, including standardised methods and processes
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a degree-level education or equivalent in Business, Engineering, or a related subject. You'll have knowledge of building a world-class engineering store, Total Productive Maintenance/Lean approaches, and engineering inventory systems. Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites and successful system deployment is essential.
You'll be able to analyse cost-effectiveness and make sound commercial and business decisions to reduce costs. Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerBI, and experience with defining and deploying CMMS across multiple sites is required. Ability to work closely with all levels within the factory environment is essential.
