Finance Manager Job Description

Adecco UK is partnering with a growing SME business based in Northwest London to recruit for a Finance Manager. This role will initially start as a 2-3 days per week position; however, due to the growth within the business, it has the potential to progress to a full-time permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Review and prepare management accounts for a portfolio of UK companies.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records to ensure they are up-to-date and correctly maintained.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyse current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Financial Process Improvement: Ensure all accounting processes are followed and improved.
  • General Ledger Management: Take full responsibility for critical month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports & analysis.
  • Cash Flow Management: Ensure efficient cash flow management by preparing and executing weekly payment runs and forecasting immediate financial requirements.
  • Financial Systems: Experience with AP/AR and posting journals, including Inventory Management experience.
  • Project Work: Lead project work, such as financial investigations and occasional client secondments.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified/Part-qualified and working towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience: Proven financial/management accounting experience, preferably beyond audit environments.
  • IT Skills: Excellent IT skills, with experience in accounting software like Xero.
  • Communication: Ability to work with non-finance peers.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
