Senior Space and Asset Manager

The University of Reading is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Space and Asset Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Estates department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability of fit-for-purpose teaching and student-facing spaces across the full range of degree types, subject areas, and associated support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a planned improvement programme to enhance the quality and availability of teaching spaces.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure sufficient teaching spaces to meet growth targets.
  • Lead the development of new design standards for teaching spaces and provide subject matter expertise for all projects updating or improving them.
  • Model demand scenarios against existing and forecast supply of teaching spaces, using timetabling and utilisation data to develop innovative solutions.
  • Gather, analyse, and interpret data to create regular and ad-hoc reports, driving data-driven recommendations for approval.
Requirements:
  • Substantial experience managing student learning and study spaces in an educational or training environment.
  • Evidence-based approach to solving problems and a passion for gathering, analysing, and interpreting data.
  • Educated to degree level, with additional qualifications in leadership and experience using tools such as PowerBi, Tableau, or Crystal Reports.
