Software Engineer Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software applications using a range of programming languages and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize software development projects.
  • Test and debug software applications to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of software development processes.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Location:

Our software engineering teams work across our London and Welwyn offices with the possibility of placements in either location.

Programme Details:

You'll experience the breadth of software engineering with the opportunity to spend time in several teams, including our front and back end development teams as well as a placement in Tesco Labs too - the research and development team within Tesco Technology.

Working at Our Campus:

Our leafy, green campus is 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Welwyn Garden City with its many shops, restaurants, pubs and sports facilities.

Close to the A1, and with frequent trains running to Finsbury Park in just 20 minutes (free shuttle buses take you between the station and office), the campus is well connected to the surrounding area.

Store Experience:

You'll start off by spending 4 weeks in stores, this is a great opportunity to really understand and get involved in what our colleagues do everyday to serve our customers and communities.
