The Role
We are seeking a skilled Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to students with SEND.
Your primary responsibility will be to assist students in overcoming barriers to learning, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
You will visit disengaged pupils at home to deliver tuition, working one-to-one or in small groups, as required. Your role will involve mentoring, facilitating learning, encouraging, motivating, and acting as a positive role model.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students with SEND, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans
- Visit disengaged pupils at home to deliver tuition, promoting engagement and academic progress
- Work with students to build confidence, develop social skills, and foster a growth mindset
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation
Requirements
- Qualification in childcare or health and social care (Level 2 or 3) or above
- At least three years of experience working with children or in a related field
- Ability to work effectively in a team, communicating regularly with teachers and other support staff
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
