Job Title: Duty Manager - SPAR Dolgellau

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at AF Blakemore & Son Ltd. As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues, ensuring excellent customer service, and contributing to achieving store sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Store Manager in ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing store environment.
  • Assist the Store Manager in delivering all store operations, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage, coach, and support colleagues, promoting a motivated and empowered team through a positive and engaging management style.
  • Carry out performance management and absence management as necessary.
  • Take responsibility for occasional opening and closing of the store, colleague safety, and stock/cash security/accountability during shifts.
  • Conduct cash reconciliations, voids, and refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues.
  • Model excellent customer service and lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience, setting us apart from competitors.
  • Work with colleagues to promote the store by identifying and acting on opportunities to engage with and support the local community.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and processes.

Requirements:

  • Previous management or supervisor experience within a food retail or similar fast-paced operation.
  • Commitment to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.
  • Capacity to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Ability to take appropriate action and make decisions.
  • Commitment to promoting collaborative working.
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility with a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to developing own skills and applying learning to improve own performance.
