Mental Health Lead Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team as a Responsible Clinician for the Adult In-patients ward at Austen Ward. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior clinician to lead and develop excellent practice in the field of general adult psychiatry.
The post holder will have clinical supervisor responsibilities for trainees on the unit, providing verbal and written evidence to Mental Health Review Tribunals and Hospital Manager's hearings. They will also be responsible for comprehensive Risk Assessments and participation in Trust's risk management processes.
This role offers opportunities for medical leadership and to provide clinical/educational supervision to junior colleagues.
About the Role- To be the Responsible Clinician (RC) for the purposes of the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and carry out duties in accordance with the code of practice.

The post holder will be required to hold and use a valid UK driving license or provide evidence of proposed alternative arrangements.

Person Specification- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.

Salary InformationThe salary for this role is £105,504 - £139,882 per year, plus a 10% R&R (non-contractual) and a 1% on-call allowance.
