About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to join our award-winning team at Avery Healthcare. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in leading the culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced and comprehensive food service that meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Prepare modified diets that are visually appealing and meet the dietary needs of our residents, in accordance with IDDSI guidelines.
  • Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstration on food preparation activities.
  • Ensure that all food preparation meets the highest hygiene standards and that the Avery Food Safety Management System is fully understood and implemented by all team members.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must possess a relevant catering qualification, such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ, and have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience. You should also demonstrate compassion, commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services, and the ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
