Materials Science Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Science Manager to lead our Materials and Testing Lab in Wrexham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient completion of test programs with adherence to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a closely related subject, and significant experience in mechanical testing of materials, primarily composites. Previous experience in managing a team, ideally in a laboratory environment or similar, is also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Materials and Testing Lab team to ensure the efficient completion of test programs with adherence to the highest standards.
- Maintain an effective team by motivating, engaging, inspiring, training, and hiring professionals.
- Communicate laboratory needs to senior members of the organization to maintain and improve overall lab capabilities and functionality.
- Develop expertise and explore continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Degree educated in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a closely related subject.
- Significant experience in mechanical testing of materials, primarily composites.
- Previous experience in managing a team, ideally in a laboratory environment or similar.
- Strong communication skills to engage and motivate the team.
