About the Role

This is a national role that requires regular travel, including visits to your nearest office two to three times per week. Suitable office locations include London, Stockport, Leeds, Chesterfield, and Sheffield.

Royal Mail's portfolio is one of the largest corporate estates in Europe, spanning c1850 properties and 33 million sqft of space across the UK. As a Portfolio Strategy Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our estate strategy, driving commercial value, and supporting the company's ambitious transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Portfolio Strategy team to identify, prioritise, and develop innovative strategic property solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Strategy and Network teams to understand and define the Network strategy.
  • Turn data into insight to create regional strategies, enabling the creation of a long-term plan and supporting shorter term decisions.
  • Inspire a team of 5 to deliver high-quality outputs and develop their own skills.
  • Take ownership of business cases for individual property projects.
  • Identify Property data and system improvements to support the development and implementation of the Portfolio Strategy.
  • Engage with operating businesses and leaders at a strategic level to ensure the fit of property strategy.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • 5+ years' relevant experience working at a senior level in a commercially focused environment – ideally in a Real Estate or Corporate business.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence senior leaders in effective decision making.
  • Great commercial acumen with a broad market knowledge and customer understanding.
  • Able to understand the principles and frameworks for successful Planning, Project & Portfolio Management within a fast-paced business environment.
