Job Title: Music Performance Teacher

SoundSkool is a specialist music industry college and community that offers a vibrant and creative learning environment. We are seeking a Music Performance Teacher to join our team and deliver a structured and relevant music curriculum to learners aged 16-18 across Level 2 and Level 3 RockSchool Diplomas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop students' performance and business skills to industry standard and support learners through their one or two year programs.
  • Plan and deliver exciting, industry-relevant, and outstanding teaching and learning, making full use of our facilities and industry partnerships.
  • Work with the Head of College and other Teachers to develop the music curriculum.
  • Play an active pastoral role as a SoundSkool Learning Manager/Tutor to ensure that all students' emotional and social needs are met.
  • Lead on the planning, organization, and delivery of student-led showcases.
  • Regularly collect data to evidence student progress towards intended outcomes and engage with target setting, monitoring, and interventions.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate Degree (Essential)
  • Qualified Teacher Status, PGCE or Teaching Diploma Level 5 (Essential)
  • Experience of writing schemes of work (Desirable)
  • Demonstrable outstanding classroom practice and lesson planning, with a proven track record of ensuring excellent student progress and progression of students across all abilities (Essential)
  • Excellent organization and planning skills (Essential)
  • Skilled performer with the ability to teach musicianship, music theory, and music practice (Essential)
  • Secondary instrument skills (guitar, keyboards, drums, vocals) (Desirable)
  • Ability to implement a student culture of high expectations and achievement (Essential)
