About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RF Test Engineer to lead our Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS) at a state-of-the-art test and evaluation facility in Farnborough.

As the primary technical contact, you will work closely with customers to plan trials, develop laboratory procedures, and ensure the integration of new capabilities, assets, and test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the laboratory, ensuring successful integration of new capabilities, assets, and test equipment.
  • Plan and support domestic and international trials within the facility, working with both present and future technology.
  • Develop into the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the project facility, acting as the main point of contact for stakeholder queries.
  • Lead a small dynamic team in the setup, operation, scheduling, and development of the synthetic test laboratory to achieve key stakeholder milestones.
Requirements
  • Experience creating test scripts/programs (e.g. LabView, Python, MATLAB).
  • Understanding of synthetic testing environments.
  • Experience integrating/calibrating hardware and software models into a laboratory environment.
  • Operation of entity models through GUIs (understanding mission objectives for each model).
  • Technical management of a production laboratory, including support for customer trials.
  • Leading and managing a small team of engineers.
  • STEM Degree or extensive relevant experience.
Desirable Skills
  • EW Domain Knowledge.
  • Creation of laboratory procedures.
  • Experience managing both analogue and digital interfaces between electronic components (RF/EO/Data).
  • Use of laboratory equipment (Vector Signal Analysers, Signal Generators & Oscilloscopes).
  • Understanding of RF/EOIR systems and sensors.
  • Version controlling hardware and software components.
  • Mentoring & coaching of junior engineers.
  • Experience working on agile projects.
